Reiki is a Japanese healing art developed in the early 1900’s. While it has traditionally been used for human treatment, all beings benefit from this therapy. The word Reiki is composed of two roots: Rei meaning Universal and Ki (Chi in Chinese) meaning Life energy. Practitioners learn to effectively share this Universal Life energy with patients through instruction, attunement and practice. While everyone has the ability to learn Reiki, a qualified instructor attunes the student which opens the student to the process of energy flow. In humans treatments are usually performed as hands on. In domestic (and wild) animals we often treat with hands off techniques unless the animal communicates otherwise.

Regular Reiki treatments promote overall physical and mental well being (great preventative medicine)

In our experience there are a number of common conditions which respond nicely :
-behavioral disorders ( fear,anxiety,aggression, marking etc- potentiated with the use of Young Living Essential Oil treatment)
-geriatric weakness and senility (including old dog vestibular syndrome and non specific tremor)
-arthritis and other chronic pain
-slow healing wounds and conditions (including feline stomatitis)
-post operative pain and wound healing
-peaceful end of life transition

Reiki treatments last typically about 20 minutes, but vary according to receptivity. Response to treatments varies from subtle to miraculous. We have had numerous success stories since we began investigating this healing technique in January 2013.
